Hope Benavidez is one of the 1,100 new CCSD teachers who joined in August to kick off the school year. However, her story has a twist.
As a brand new teacher, Hope recently began her teaching career at Mervin R. Iverson Elementary School, which she once attended from kindergarten to fifth grade. But that’s not all. Hope’s mother, Amanda Benavidez, also teaches at the same school, starting when Hope was in first grade—and remains a dedicated educator there to this day.
